ABOUT KENT HUGO
Product of a North American suburb and son of an intrepid east-Frenchman and pensive Canadian-woman, Kent learned early that the success of a good idea depended on its virtue and concept. Mix in a degree and postgraduate degree in experimental postmodern art and film making, and the result is a body of work that can safely be described as usually playful, frequently diverse, and always concept-driven.
He has 13+ years directing experience, and has enjoyed directing projects with: JWT, Leo Burnett, Grey, MTV International, Vice, Warp Records, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Lola, and Ministry Of Sound (amongst many others). Past and present work with production companies & reps include Bullion, OB Management, Smile Spain, Curious Pictures, Electric Company, Hesty Reps, Mr.Hyde and Czar.
At the core of his interests is an extensive collection of A.M. Cassandre posters, almost every Douglas Coupland book ever released, and an obsession with collecting weird and wonderful types of lights.
Kent has been living in London since 2008. He is acutely aware of the pitfalls of living in England with a name like Kent, and so he can also go by Derek, Hugonought, Mr.Hugo, Uncle Daddy, or whatever else you want to call him (within reason of course).
